Experts on the road – the different way of testing tires
September 10th, almost 90 motorbikers from across Europe had met in Lucerne – mainly motorbike journalists, numerous bloggers, and online opinion leaders. Their dedication was a real life performance test of the Pirelli Premium Brand Metzeler motorbikes in the territory with different types of tires and the purpose to gather experience material for reporting to the biker community. Digital PR, the online agency of Hill & Knowlton Group, is in charge of the overall Pirelli account while Dr. Knobel Consultants takes care of online opinion leaders and bloggers in German speaking Europe.

Hakle’s Guerill Event in 10 train stations
End of July in ten major SBB train stations passengers had been offered a special treat to their behind: Hakle invited to relax on huge white Sitting Bull beanbags and to participate in a contest with the chance to win the bag. The unusual event generated great attention and attracted a high number of travellers. It was the kick-off for the Hakle advertising campaign “be kind to your behind”, the PR aspects of which are managed this and next year.

Stunning coverage of Castrol’s Euro 08 sponsorship – over 400 clippings
From November 2007 until July 2008 the Dr. Knobel PR Consultancy had been in charge of media relations around Castrol’s sponsorship of UEFA EURO 2008TM . Internationally the media relations program had been diligently orchestrated and fine-tuned through the Hill & Knowlton network. The media content was focused on www.castrolindex.ch, a website offering unique statistical material on the performance of football players and on the games to the community of football enthusiasts. The result of our efforts: well over 400 clippings mentioning the Castrol index, reaching more than 54 million readers.

XAVER-Award for Dreamcard project
XAVER, the national award for Swiss Live Communication, assigns outstanding consumer promotions. This year, the gold winner in the category «Best Live Communication Campain» was Dreamcard. The lead for this project was in the hands of Spillmann/Felser/Leo/Burnett AG, whereas Dr. Peter P. Knobel AG was responsible for national and local media relations throughout the year. With Dreamcard, a national project, the Association of Swiss Cantonal Banks celebrated its 100 year anniversary by meet extraordinary dreams of people throughout Switzerland. From April through December Dreamcard offered the impossible and provided access to the inapproachable. For example: breakfast on the rock in the Rhein cascades, a flight with a Superconstellation, an extra month of vacation paid, a swim with dolphins, attendance of an exclusive concert or meeting a celebrity. Such events took place at numerous locations, whereas following the strong local roots of the Cantonal Banks, the respective media have been serviced on the spot successfully.

Swiss PR industry expects stable growth
According to the Association of PR Agencies in Switzerland (BPRA), the volume of professional fees in the PR industry will increase by about 8% in 2007. This is the strongest growth in recent years. Most Companies Lack an Energy Strategy, Research Shows
While a majority of senior technology leaders from around the globe (82 percent) closely monitor the issue of global warming, most do not have a defined energy strategy to deal with it (65 percent), according to a new global survey released by Hill & Knowlton, Inc. In fact, more than three quarters of business decision makers surveyed (77 percent) believe there is a need to expand the c-suite to include a chief energy officer (CNO) to manage, implement and measure a company’s return on investment in environmental technology, the so-called "return on environment" (ROE).

New President for the Association of PR Agencies in Switzerland: Peter P. Knobel succeeds Ulrich Bollmann
On the occasion of the meeting of members of the Association of PR Agencies in Switzerland (BPRA), Peter P. Knobel has been elected President of the association. He succeeds Ulrich Bollmann who presided over the association of the leading PR agencies for six years with sustained success. With Knobel, it is again a foundation member who takes the leadership role. For almost 20 years now, Dr. Peter P. Knobel has been managing the PR consulting agency of the same name in Zug which is among the top ten in the industry today. Roman Geiser, CEO of Burson-Marsteller AG, was elected as a new member of the managing board while Christian König, delegate of the board of directors of Farner Consulting AG, and Peter Felber, partner of int/ext Communications AG in Basle, were re-elected.
